The gospel is offensive. It is offensive to sin. When we love God, if we love God, then we desire to be more like Him. We desire to be more like Jesus. When we attempt to line up our lives with the righteousness of Christ, we will see just how filthy we really are. That’s why we need a savior. Righteousness and sin cannot walk hand in hand. Grab hold of the sword, the word of God, and allow the unchanging message of the gospel to bring you to a point of repentance. Are you offended or are you being provoked to righteousness? I pray that it is the latter.
I am indeed the latter. I choose to embrace that which cuts me and heals me at the same time.
